Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Fumba Beach Lodge

Sprawled over 40 acres of an incredibly beautiful expanse, the Menai Beach Conservation Area, the Fumba Beach Lodge is a modest accommodation for value guests vacationing in Zanzibar. Located in the southernmost expanse of western Zanzibar, about 30 minutes from the island's hub of Stone Town, the lodge offers accessibility to Zanzibar's varied attractions while its setting on Fumba Beach bids tranquility and enjoyment of the pristine tanned sands offset by the shimmering blue, warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

Go on diving and snorkeling expeditions to revel in the wondrous treasures of the sea. Later, enjoy long siestas in the loungers beside the pool or unpretentious massages at the spa. The lodge offers 26 rooms in all in different specifications to suit the bargain AfricanMecca traveler. All of the rooms come with a king-sized bed with mosquito netting and ceiling fan. You can choose from their 20 Deluxe Bandas sited in structures that house two apiece, some offering views of the ocean and others of the gardens.

They also have 4 Luxury Suites and 2 Baobab Suites that are located on the seaside. The Suites feature open-air showers or baths and have terraces furnished with comfortable loungers and hammocks for relaxation. The Fumba Beach Lodge has an in-house restaurant that serves a selection of adequate seafood, meats, poultry, fresh vegetables and juicy fruits. They also have an outdoor bar set up inside an old fishermen dhow. Enjoy hearty meals in the company of monkeys, bush babies and elephant shrews scampering around.

Enjoy the rest of your adventure tour in Zanzibar by exploring its many attractions from Fumba. The island has a rich cultural heritage having been an important fixture on the spice route and this rich past is evident in the stately architectural wonders that each talk about a different era. You could also follow in the footsteps of the ancient Omani princes and princesses as they slipped through the narrow alleyways of Stone Town.

Pick up mementos of your authentic trip of East Africa or sample the many seafood goodies cooked in front of you at Forodhani Gardens in the evening. Also, visit the spice and fruit plantations that the island metropolis is so famous for. Revel in the taste of the spices in their natural organic form and perhaps, learn their harvesting techniques. You must also taste the unusual fruits such as shoki shoki, custard apple, durian, bungo and many more.

Add a primate viewing experience to your dream holiday in Tanzania by visiting the Jozani Forest, a reserve set aside for the protection of the rare kirk’s red colobus monkey. Also, enjoy viewing the diverse species of flora the forest is well-known for. Snorkeling and scuba diving in the reefs of Menia Bay or even in the northeastern region at Mnemba Atoll are incredible marine safari experiences you must undertake.

There are colorful coral gardens and seagrasses which are the rainforests of the ocean. Many wondrous reef denizens live here such as sea urchins, sea anemones, turtles, eels, rays and innumerable varieties of fish. There are various deep-ocean sites around Zanzibar that are finely designated for fishing. You can hire boats and book a skipper via AfricanMecca to take you out, and both seasoned and amateur fishermen can try angling for marlins, wahoo, tuna, swordfish and many more.
