HILTON HOTEL ZANZIBAR STONE TOWN
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Hilton Hotel Zanzibar Stone Town
Hilton Hotel Zanzibar Stone Town offers a perfect blend of contemporary and traditional elements in a high-end hotel setting. The 58 rooms provide you with modern amenities and authentic cultural design elements that enhance your private historical tour of Stone Town with AfricanMecca. Set within the Old Courthouse grounds, the hotel is perfectly located for easy access to Zanzibar’s many natural, historical and cultural attractions.
The restoration and part rebuilding of the Old Courthouse now immerses you in a fused yesteryear and modern-day character. All rooms feature 40+ inch televisions, air conditioning and complimentary Wi-Fi. Standard Guest Rooms offer a spacious bed, hand-carved desk amidst other Swahili design elements.
Should you need additional space, the Deluxe Guest Rooms are slightly larger. The most spacious options, perfect for a romantic or honeymoon holiday in Zanzibar, are the one-bedroom Suites that feature windows that open to allow Indian Ocean breezes in, as well as a separate sitting area and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in rain-shower.
The hotel offers expansive views of your surroundings from the rooms on the uppermost floors. These rooms also tend to be the quietest should you be planning a starry-eyed couple’s trip to this Tanzanian island on the Swahili East African coast. This DoubleTree Hilton Hotel has an elevator, uncommon in most Stone Town hotels with its many steps, so it is an ideal accommodation for guests with limited mobility.
Additionally families appreciate the babysitting services and children’s menu. The staff are friendly, and all of the rooms are clean and comfortable. Should you desire to stay in shape during your vacation, the fitness area is well-equipped. Hilton Hotel Zanzibar Stone Town offers quick and easy access to landmarks for your inquisitive day excursion. Breakfast is served in the Taarab Restaurant, or you may enjoy a quick cup of tea or coffee accompanied by a light snack from Chai Kahawa.
AfricanMecca does recommend that you start your day early because a morning walking tour of Stone Town is highly recommended. Even though this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers much to see, the pace of the walk is quite leisurely so that you can soak in all of the culture and history around you. Highlights of the visit include Livingstone House, Peace Memorial Museum (Beit-al-Amani), Old Fort (NgomeKongwe), Tippu Tip House, Sultan’s Palace Museum (Beit-al-Sahel), House of Wonders (Beit-al-Ajaib) and Indian Dispensary. You also have a chance to shop at a local market.
Return to Hilton Stone Town for a delectable early lunch and relaxing nap before heading out again. The island’s spice farms offer an immersive travel experience as you see up-close the many seasonings, fruits and other produce for which the island is known around the world! You not only get to see lemongrass growing wild and bananas hanging from trees, but you also savor every flavor, such as jackfruit, starfruit, cinnamon, nutmeg and that is only the beginning!
After your sense of taste and smell are satisfied, your guide takes you into Jozani Forest Reserve for a micro-safari of Zanzibar’s natural habitats. The forest covers 50 square kilometers from the central to the eastern section of the island. Nature lovers and primate photographers are genuinely gratified by the experience, especially when they sight some of the endangered species, such as Kirk’s red colobus monkeys and Syke’s monkeys.
Almost every bit of vegetation and shoreline within the reserve is home to a small creature, such as lizards, frogs, butterflies, other insects and crabs. Avian species are also abundant. Chwaka and Uzi, two mangrove bays, are highly recommended. The sunsets at Zanzibar are not to be missed, so as evening sets in, find a cozy spot at the Stone Town rooftop restaurant at Hilton Hotel, order your favorite cocktail and some dinner and watch the spectacular showcase of African sunset and sailing dhows.

The Zanzibar Stone Town tour guide was superlative. He was outstanding and gave us undivided attention. We felt that was great value and to be escorted round the market place and slave stations was like walking in a living museum.

I booked my safari holiday through AfricanMecca. They were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with and I work within the travel industry. I had the most amazing time. The holiday went as clockwork with no hitches anywhere.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.
Denise Paterson - Belmont, Australia
Ras Nungwi was a beautiful property, the pristine white beach not more than forty feet from our lovely room, the Indian Ocean sublime. Raza, it was the vacation of a lifetime, again, thanks so much.
