The Baraza Resort and Spa may well be the epitome of luxury living taking you back to the centuries-old traditional spaces of the Sultans. With a decor that reflects authentic Zanzibari furnishing styles, it combines elements of Arabic, Indian and Swahili architecture in its elaborately carved doors, enchanting brass lamps and elegant antiques. This hotel is highly recommended for honeymooners, romantics and families. They have a range of facilities for you to avail of on your AfricanMecca beach vacation in Zanzibar including a lavish spa, swimming pool with underwater melody, tennis court, beach volleyball, gym, ping pong and arrangements for water activities like diving and snorkeling. The resort welcomes children and has suites suitable for families among their 30 Villas, some located in beautifully maintained gardens and others with the view of Bwejuu Beach. Each of the Villas includes a lounge, mini bar, tea and coffee making equipment, television with DVD player and large patio with plush daybeds for lazy afternoon siestas. You will also have an outdoor plunge pool for languorous soaks or a splash party with the kids. The en-suite bathroom has a shower and standalone bathtub. Choose from their villas in five specifications, Garden View Two Bedroom Villa, One Bedroom Villa, Sultan Two Bedroom Villa, Ocean Front One Bedroom Villa and Presidential Two Bedroom Villa. Enjoy exquisite cuisine prepared and served with care at the resort's three restaurants and bars, Livingstone Terrace – an al fresco dining area, Ocean Lounge Bar and Restaurant, The Sultans Dining Room and the Dhahabu Bar & Lounge. While you can spend your entire seaside trip in Zanzibar at the Baraza, you must explore the island and revel in its delightful ambience of ancient and present day attractions. Your experienced AfricanMecca guide will show you around the elegant old buildings in its capital Stone Town and talk to you about the epochs when they were constructed. Also, wander through the bazaars, and shop for souvenirs like hand-crafted jewelry, kitenges, woodcarvings and other artifacts as mementos of your unforgettable holiday in Tanzania. You can go on a primate viewing tour to the Jozani Forest, a reserve set aside for the protection of the rare red colobus monkeys. The famous spice and fruit plantations that made Zanzibar an important fixture on the spice route is another attraction you must visit. Here, you can view the zings in their natural form growing on the trees. Learn how to harvest them and their many other uses aside from flavoring food. Also, sink your teeth into the luscious fruits unique to this part of Eastern Africa and savor their delectable taste long after you return home. Spend time on the seashore of Zanzibar with the incredible vistas of the shimmering turquoise blue of the Indian Ocean where it offsets by the pure white sands and lush tropical greenery. Go scuba diving and snorkeling off the coral reefs around Bwejuu or even at Mnemba Atoll, a marine reserve off Matemwe Beach on the northeast of the island. You will be captivated by the stunning diversity of the colorful coral and their many moving inhabitants. Deep sea fishing is another activity you can enjoy during your travels of Zanzibar (why visit it). There are various designated sites where you can try angling for billfish like swordfish, marlins, sailfish and others.

The Zanzibar Stone Town tour guide was superlative. He was outstanding and gave us undivided attention. We felt that was great value and to be escorted round the market place and slave stations was like walking in a living museum.
Viv & Kirsty Turner - KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
I booked my safari holiday through AfricanMecca. They were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with and I work within the travel industry. I had the most amazing time. The holiday went as clockwork with no hitches anywhere.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.
Denise Paterson - Belmont, Australia
Ras Nungwi was a beautiful property, the pristine white beach not more than forty feet from our lovely room, the Indian Ocean sublime. Raza, it was the vacation of a lifetime, again, thanks so much.
