MATEMWE BEACH HOUSE IN ZANZIBAR

Off the coast of Tanzania, sited in the Indian Ocean is a prize, much-coveted by ancient rulers. This is Zanzibar Island, a famous haven on the well-known spice route. Visit the island during your travels in Eastern Africa and you will understand and be fascinated by its rare charm. To the north of the island are three glorious beaches, the northwest Kendwa Beach, the north tip Nungwi Beach and the northeast Matemwe Beach.
If you have dreamed of staying with friends and family in a tropical private beachfront house with the seaside just a few steps away, then you must choose the Matemwe Beach House on the northeastern coast for your family beach holiday in Tanzania with AfricanMecca.
You will have a deluxe three-bedroom villa with a walled, surrounding garden all to yourself. You are free to lounge about the spacious patio or on your exclusive viewing deck in complete seclusion. The patio has comfortable daybeds for cuddling up with a loved one and the deck has a plunge pool for cool-off soak sessions in the warm sun with expansive views of the stunning turquoise blue of the Indian Ocean in front of you.
If you like, you can go snorkeling, diving, swimming or sunbathing on the pristine white beach and return to the house for tasty fresh meals cooked by your personal chef as per your tastes complimented with fine wines and other drinks.
Matemwe Beach House has three bedrooms and can accommodate six guests at a time including kids above the age of 6 years. Two of these bedrooms are on the lower floor and have an ensuite bathroom each. While the master bedroom includes a double bed, the other has twin beds. The third bedroom is located on an enchanting mezzanine area with a thatched roof.
Your butler takes care of all the chores about the villa and assists you with anything you might need while on your seashore tour in Tanzania. Spend one or two days of your beach vacation in the heart of Zanzibar. Stone Town is its capital where there are many timeworn buildings, each of them standing mute testimony to a different era. There are magnificent sultan palaces and museums, Anglican Church, mosques, Hindu temple amidst narrow alleyways where you can shop to your heart's content for quaint mementos, much like the age-old inhabitants of yore.
Thereafter, proceed with your AfricanMecca guide to the plantations where fragrant spices and luscious fruit can be viewed and tasted in their most natural form. End your day with a visit to the Jozani Forest Reserve that is home of the distinct Kirk’s red colobus monkeys. Your knowledgeable guide will accompany you on your explorations and charm you with details of their habitat and social behaviors.
You must trip out to Mnemba Atoll, a marine reserve off Matemwe Beach, where the coral gardens and their splendidly colored inhabitants will enchant you on scuba diving and snorkeling excursions. Try your hand at deep sea fishing in the several designated areas around Zanzibar where you could attempt to catch some fantastic specimens of billfishes including sailfish, swordfish, blue, black and stripped marlins.

The Zanzibar Stone Town tour guide was superlative. He was outstanding and gave us undivided attention. We felt that was great value and to be escorted round the market place and slave stations was like walking in a living museum.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.
Denise Paterson - Belmont, Australia
Ras Nungwi was a beautiful property, the pristine white beach not more than forty feet from our lovely room, the Indian Ocean sublime. Raza, it was the vacation of a lifetime, again, thanks so much.
