The paradisiacal beauty of Pongwe Beach in eastern Zanzibar (read more on where to stay) with its soft white sands, shimmering turquoise waters of the tepid Indian Ocean, clear skies and lush tropical greenery forms the milieu of the Tulia Zanzibar Resort. This mid-range accommodation attempts to capture the very essence of the spirit of the island and present it to like-minded AfricanMecca travelers. The hotel has been partly crafted out of naturally occurring materials giving it a distinct ambience. Stone-paved walkways lead to the collection of 17 rooms while a winding swimming pool curves around the bar. Enjoy the serenity of your surroundings with a cool drink in hand or a book from the in-house library while relaxing in the daybeds beside the pool. Tulia Zanzibar offers three different rooming specifications for your boutique beachfront vacation in this part of Tanzania. Choose from the 10 Garden Bungalows, 5 Seafront Junior Suites, and 2 Honeymoon Suites. Families can request for interconnected Garden Bungalows. Each of the air-conditioned rooms is furnished with a plush, king-sized bed covered with mosquito netting, closet, writing table and dresser. It also has other amenities like tea and coffee making supplies, electronic safe, satellite TV and minibar. You can spend time in the seating area inside the room or on the patio. The rooms come with an ensuite bathroom equipped with a twin basins, hairdryer, bidet and walk-in shower stall. The Honeymoon Suites have Jacuzzis too. Your meals at the Tulia Zanzibar Resort are delectable experiences cooked and served with care in their seafront restaurant. You can also request that your meals to be served at the location of your choice such at your patio, room or on the beach at a time that is best suited to you. Enjoy a selection of cuisines accompanied by fine wines. Using Tulia Resort as a base, you could go exploring the enchanting island of Zanzibar. Your dream holiday will be made very memorable by touring the capital, Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site well known for its historic buildings and quaint Swahili merchant houses. The labyrinth alleyways are lined with tiny stores selling you traditional wares that are fascinating to see. Also, travel out to Jozani Forest Reserve and delight in watching the red colobus monkey. Your knowledgeable AfricanMecca guide will also introduce you to many rare flora, insects, reptiles, and amphibians that reside here. Another highlight of yourtrip in Zanzibar is a visit to the spice plantations. View the many spices in their natural form and learn about the different medicinal elixirs that can be made from them. There are distinct fruits native to this part of East Africa. Look for durian, shoki-shoki, fenesi, bungo and many more. Back at the seaside, go scuba diving at Mnemba Atoll Marine Reserve and snorkeling at Chumbe Island Coral Park, and you will be immersed in a stunning underwater realm of coral gardens abounding with an incredible variety of reef creatures and ocean flora. You could also spend an afternoon of angling aboard one of the custom-built fishing boats at the many designated sites around the island.

The Zanzibar Stone Town tour guide was superlative. He was outstanding and gave us undivided attention. We felt that was great value and to be escorted round the market place and slave stations was like walking in a living museum.
Viv & Kirsty Turner - KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
I booked my safari holiday through AfricanMecca. They were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with and I work within the travel industry. I had the most amazing time. The holiday went as clockwork with no hitches anywhere.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.
Denise Paterson - Belmont, Australia
Ras Nungwi was a beautiful property, the pristine white beach not more than forty feet from our lovely room, the Indian Ocean sublime. Raza, it was the vacation of a lifetime, again, thanks so much.
