Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp
The Mara River is perhaps the most well-known safari landmark in the northern Serengeti — and for good reason. This is the site where massive herds of wildebeests frantically navigate crocodile-infested waters to reach the safety of the opposite shore on the way to Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Driven by the critical need for food and water, these amazing animals do the unthinkable, and AfricanMecca gives you a front row seat to the action.
With wildlife often wandering through the camp, you are never far from your favorite species at Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp. These individual animals are just a sample of what awaits deeper in the surrounding landscape. Elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, warthogs, hippos, buffaloes, kudus, impalas and so many more herbivores! Peer into the grasses and on elevated points, and you may spot a majestic lion, elusive leopard, cheeky hyena, striking cheetah, or other predator waiting for the perfect moment to secure prey. Seeing a kill unfold in front of you is one of the most memorable and dynamic experiences that you will ever have.
Accommodation At Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp
An authentic bush experience awaits at the budget-friendly Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp, located in the northern section of Serengeti National Park. The site for the camp was chosen to take guests close to the most impressive spectacle of the Great Migration: the crossing of the Mara River. Become part of a real-life nature documentary as you watch the throng of wildebeests clamor through a gauntlet of snapping crocodile jaws, reaching the opposite bank exhausted and spent.Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp operates from June to November, so chances are good that your outback tour will include one of the most thrilling events in Serengeti. Staying in a traditional canvas tent on the plains only heightens the experience of witnessing the migration firsthand. The camp offers 11 tents in total, including a family one, each of which has a sleeping area, ensuite bathroom, and private verandah. Bed configurations include double, twin, or triple. Standard tents comfortably meet the needs of two to three adventurous travelers, while the family tent is large enough for four people who are exploring the Tanzanian bush as a small family. The ensuite bathroom features a small vanity with mirror and wash basin, a separate area with a flush toilet, and a bucket shower.
The staff at Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp are known for providing friendly service, from the moment that you are greeted with a warm towel and refreshing beverage to the time when you must depart. Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp is powered by solar energy alongside a backup generator.
Safari At Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp
The primary trip activity at Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp is a game drive in Serengeti National Park. We recommend that you partake of this experience in the morning and late afternoon, as wildlife behaviors have subtle variances from morning to night. The late afternoon to early evening game drive may also reveal nocturnal species that you would otherwise miss, and the time in the bush ends with sundowners. Standard game drives last two to three hours. We can also arrange an all-day game drive that includes a bush picnic.Should you have time in your itinerary, the second morning can be spent aloft in a hot air balloon drifting across the plains. This is one of the most classic ways to see Africa, and it concludes with a lovely bush breakfast. Your stay at Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp may also include visits to the museum at Olduvai Gorge when driving from Ngorongoro Crater. The location is known for the work of Louis and Mary Leaky. Prior to visiting Serengeti, we also recommend visiting a local Maasai village to learn more about the traditions and beliefs of these native tribal Tanzanians.
Dining At Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp

Should you be on a budget private and custom safari vacation for two, meals can be served in your tent where you can dine while gazing across the Serengeti savannah.Related Pages
