GUIDE ON DUNIA CAMP (ASILIA AFRICA) IN SERENGETI
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Dunia Camp
The wild Serengeti heart of the Central Seronera Valley, teeming with East African wildlife where your days offer an unforgettable safari trip with AfricanMecca. This area is excellent for viewing the noted eighth wonder of the world, the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeests intermingled with thousands of zebra across the endless plains of this premier Tanzania national park.
The seasonal migration also attracts predatory lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and other carnivores that traverse their territories in search of prey. The plains are famous for the wide variety of spectacular terrestrial and aquatic wildlife, avi-fauna, flora and natural scenery on display.
During your African wildlife tour, you must attempt the secluded Dunia Camp by Asilia, a superlative mid-range safari camp run by women where it is splendidly exciting to get close to all your intimate animal neighbors from your inconspicuous base camp where you can relax and become immersed as part of the natural order of things in Serengeti National Park.
Accommodation At Dunia Camp
Dunia Camp comprises of only eight surprisingly elegant tents that promise a comfortable travel experience, decorated with weathered wood, heavy canvas, dried sisal frond matting -- all furnished in earth tone colors that reflect the natural beauty of Tanzania. The individual tents are spaced apart for privacy (favored by AfricanMecca guests), on the flank of Nyareboro Hill with stunning views of the limitless Serengeti plains bespattered with amazing concentrations of wildlife, often appearing as dense as a flock of starlings against the short, green grass that spreads away to the horizon.Supremely comfortable large beds, roomy ensuite bathrooms with flush toilets, hurricane lamps, and canvas chairs are amongst the expected amenities. The tents have battery and camera charging points. Casual outdoor and indoor dining facilities and relaxation lounges are a short walk away. What is surprisingly unexpected is the extreme thoughtfulness of the camp staff that will provide hot water bottles for your bed on cold nights and the sort of care that makes this small wilderness retreat an ideal bush holiday escape even for solo guests to romantic honeymooners, as well as children over five years of age with their families on safari in Africa.
The camp itself is inconspicuous and harmonizes perfectly with the serenity of its beautiful setting, making only the slightest impact on its surrounding. Care has been taken not to affect the local ecology, yet offer a superb standard of hospitality with unbelievable levels of comfort, convenience and personal service in Africa.
Safari At Dunia Camp
The wide diversity of scenery and habitat in this central part of Serengeti Park make Dunia Camp an outstanding base for your scenic vacation that lends to a photography safari journal unlike any other. The riverine tracts offer ideal conditions for hippo and crocodile. The rocky kopjes shelter round-eared cuddly hyrax and provide a secure haven for the last of the black rhinoceros. Lions can be seen climbing the rocky outcrops, termite mounds, and sometimes trees, where bare stems and wide arching heads of scattered thorn trees repeat the round-topped theme of distant granite kopje domes.A rare baobab tree can be seen with its thick trunk and bare branches looking more like roots so that one can almost believe the African story that the tree was once so proud of its beauty that it was punished from the heavens by earthly thrust with the head landing first. Herds of gazelle, impala, buffalo and other horned herbivores gather in the evening by the Seronera River, attracting stealthy predators with endless avi-fauna flocking on the banks of the river or flying on the dusking skies of the Serengeti.
If you are determined to immerse yourself in Africa, why not watch wildlife with a bird’s eye view, and treat yourself to a spectacular early morning balloon flight which will empower you to grasp the immensity of the yearly miracle that occurs in this part of the world. Finish with a celebratory glass of champagne to toast to your return to land as many AfricanMecca guests leave the Serengeti vowing to come back just to take the flight – an uninterrupted, non-intrusive and discerning wildlife watching experience from the air.
Dining At Dunia Camp
For your impressive tour with AfricanMecca, you may come and go as you please to explore the African wilderness. Lunch facilities are flexible in accordance with the plans you make with your guide over an aromatic wake-up cup of coffee or tea.On a full day game viewing, take a packed picnic lunch or drinks and snacks for a sundowner at a spectacular viewpoint. Food choices served in camp are eclectic, from full English breakfast to delicious cuisine lunches and dinners with soups, salads, meat roasts and grills, cold and hot platters, vegetables, sandwiches, cheeses and delicious desserts served with inordinate expertise.
As evening and sunset falls, you enjoy your twilight drinks in the bush awaiting the golden sky to turn pink before returning to the camp to freshen up, and thereafter, pre-dinner drinks by the bar or camp fire. Dinner can be taken in the restaurant ambience of the dining area or sometimes bush style around the campfire with live cooking on site.

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
