LAZY LAGOON ISLAND LODGE IN BAGAMOYO
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Lazy Lagoon Lodge
Lazy Lagoon Lodge is set on a petite private island on the Indian Ocean accessible from the coastal town of Bagamoyo. Located at a distance of just over one mile from the shore, you can reach the island by a twenty-minute boat ride. Stay over at the private island on your Tanzania barefoot beach vacation with AfricanMecca, and you will be struck by the serene solitude and untouched beauty of the isle. On the enclave is the Lazy Lagoon Lodge, a Robinson Crusoe like accommodation off the surrounds of Bagamoyo, created in keeping with the rustic theme of ethnic Swahili design, and built entirely with eco-friendly naturally occurring materials. Two-story little villas have steep sloping roofs and face the sea to let in the cool sea winds. Choose from one of the 12 villas with twin or double beds as per your preference. The upper story also has two twin beds, and this makes the beach accommodation ideal for families of four with two adults and two children. You can also use the upper level as a lounge. The beds are covered with mosquito nets and you can request laundry services, at no extra charge. You can also request that your meals be served in your villa. The villas have little verandas where you can spend time on your Bagamoyo beach trip with a cup of fresh Arabica coffee or a cocktail. Each morning you will have the uninterrupted view of traditional fishing boats called ngalawas, heading out to sea, and in the evenings you will see them coming in. The lodge chef pick palatable seafood from the fishermen’s fresh catch, and create unique scrumptious meals for you that you can have in the airy and sea view dining area. This area has a thatched roof and floors with wooden paving creating a quaint ambience for you. Breakfast is an elaborate affair with eggs cooked to your liking along with sausages, beans with tomato, oatmeal or pancakes with syrup. Accompany your choice with warm bread and buns and choose from a range of juices, tea and coffee. Lunches and dinners are both three course meals that include meat, seafood and fresh vegetables. You can also request a cherished romantic evening on the beach with candlelit dinner arranged for you under the stars. Your scenic beach accommodation in Eastern Tanzania has special facilities for physically challenged guests. The pathways between the rooms are wheelchair friendly, and two of the villas have ramp accesses. The bathrooms and shower areas are spacious enough to accommodate a wheelchair. The lodge also has Swahili-themed day beds for lounging in during the day. On your Lazy Lagoon beach tour, you can take long walks on the sun-kissed beautiful white sands of the beach or check out the pools in the rocks by the receding tide. You are sure to sight outlandish fishes and fast moving crabs. Enjoy a freshwater swim in the lodge’s swimming pool or a rejuvenating salt dip in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Also, enjoy a snorkeling expedition to view the underwater treasures of Tanzania. From Lazy Lagoon Private Island, you can also spend an afternoon sailing on the sea or kayaking on the waters. If you are looking to track the land wildlife treasures of Tanzania on an action-packed safari with AfricanMecca with some rest and relaxation at the end, we recommend you combine it with an ocean side holiday at Lazy Lagoon Lodge for a truly languid holiday.

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
