Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Mount Meru Game Lodge
For a unique experience during your AfricanMecca escapade trip to Arusha, stay at the Mount Meru Game Lodge that is situated between Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro. What sets this Arusha hotel apart from others is the proximity to its in-house wildlife “rescue” sanctuary for orphaned or injured animals.
Here, you may see some of Tanzania’s most beautiful and diverse animals, such as tortoises, zebras, Colobus and blue monkeys, elands, monitor lizards and many others. Avian residents of the sanctuary include peacock, ostrich, crane, stork, eagle, to name just a few. The lodge offers 15 guest rooms and 2 suites, all with verandahs, although some verandahs are shared. Room size is adequate at this deluxe Arusha accommodation and furnishings are uncomplicated, such as single, queen or king beds canopied with mosquito netting, sitting area and lighting.
The beds have continental quilts, and you may request sheets and blankets. Suites have private lush gardens that are perfect for families and small groups on an AfricanMecca tour who want a secluded setting for gatherings. When you choose a room for your unperturbed vacation in Tanzania, request one that is set away from the front gate to avoid vehicle traffic reverberations from the main road.
The most exciting views are from the rooms that face the animal sanctuary. Satellite internet connectivity and telephone are available in the boutique, and wireless internet is available in the main building, gardens and most guest rooms. Gifts and travel sundries are available at Mia’s Boutique.
The food in the dining area is enjoyable, and the bar and lounge are nice zones to relax with a selection of cocktails, spirits, wines and beers while enjoying the incredible flora and fauna beauty of the property. The terrace of the main building gives you a quiet place to absorb your surroundings under the shade of large elderly mango trees, in addition to its excellent spot to watch the sun set.
You may also visit the sanctuary to see some of the animals that will fill your days with excitement during your teaser African safari stay in Arusha. The wildlife have been rescued as a result of injury or being orphaned. Some animals are able to return to the wild after rehabilitation while others become permanent residents of the sanctuary.
Other activities that are available at this quaint hotel in Tanzania include interpretive nature walks, scenic walks and visits to local villages and farms, all of which are available to guests free of charge. The location of the hotel gives you easy access to many other activities, as well, such as city tours of Arusha and visits to Arusha National Park and Mt. Kilimanjaro National Park with your AfricanMecca guide.
During your stay, Mount Meru Game Lodge may host a special event at the gazebo, such as the popular Traditional English Roast Lunch Buffet. Notable guests such as Charles, Prince of Wales has visited the lodge.

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
