WHERE TO STAY IN OLARE MOTOROGI

At Olare Motorogi Conservancy, we recommend Mara Plains Camp for premier Tier 1, Kicheche Bush Camp for deluxe Tier 2 and Loyk Mara Camp as a value Tier 3 option. Mara Plains Camp is a boutique and exclusive tented accommodation that is located along the Ntiakatek River along the northern border of the reserve. The camp allows a maximum of fourteen guests in 7 colonial-feel tents.

With so few guests, the staff meets your every wish and desire while you simply relax and revel in complete isolation in Kenya’s gorgeous bush country. Your private verandah offers a peaceful place to take in the pristine wilderness amidst interactive wildlife. Even when you choose to remain inside your luxurious tent, the loosely octagon shape offers nearly 360-degree views of your surroundings.



The interior is inspired by early explorers who first imported or discovered the treasures of Kenya, such as Lamu-style doors, brass chandeliers, Persian rugs and other pieces. Furnishings include writing desk, comfy bed and linens, nightstands with reading lamps, safari wardrobe, luggage rack, writing desk and sitting area with chairs and table. The en-suite bathroom features free-standing copper bathtub, mirrors and double sink vanity with copper accents. Other AfricanMecca Tier 1 recommended options are Mahali Mzuri and Olare Mara Kempinski.

Our deluxe Tier 2 recommendation in Olare Motorogi is Kicheche Bush Camp sited amidst thorny acacia trees. The camp offers 6 roomy tents with three separate adjoining areas i.e. bedroom with double or twin wooden bedsteads, the shaded lounge verandah with cozy chairs and the en-suite bathroom with an open-door wardrobe, bucket shower, basin and flush toilet. Alternate Tier 2 recommended options are Porini Lion Camp and Richard's River Camp.



Loyk Mara Camp is our value Tier 3 recommendation. The camp offers 10 admirable tents, each with a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom with flush toilet, wash basin and shower. Note that Loyk Mara does not have activity traversal rights in the private Olare Motorogi Conservancy; therefore, all its game drives are done in the adjoining public Masai Mara National Reserve. Amani Mara Lodge is also another Tier 3 accommodation you can opt for; however, it lacks the same traversal rights in the private conservancy.
