WHERE TO STAY IN EASTERN MASAI MARA
For guests who desire a Tier 1 luxury accommodation, we recommend Mara Bushtops. Even though the camp is located in a zone with many accommodations within a short distance, you still have the experience of a high-end camp, including a secluded wilderness setting, boutique guest tents, exceptional service and sumptuous food quality.
The boutique camp offers 12 private elevated tents to maximize your views of the landscape. Your tent is surrounded by a raised wooden deck that offers an intimate and secluded place to rejuvenate. The inside of your tent features African-inspired chic décor to give you a unique perspective of native cultures and the natural beauty of Kenya. The en-suite bathroom is a soothing space with flush toilet, vanity and indoor-outdoor shower.
Leleshwa Camp in the eastern zone of Masai Mara plains is our Tier 2 recommendation. Also situated within the evolving 29,000-acre Siana Conservancy, the camp offers 7 tents for a maximum of sixteen guests. Each tent features king-size bed, bedside tables and lamps and ensuite bathroom with vessel sinks, shower and flush toilet. There is also a family tent and children-focused activities available at Leleshwa. There are two common canvas areas next to each other that houses the lounge and dining space. Other Tier 2 recommendations are Entumoto Safari Camp with 9 tents and Tipilikwani Mara Camp with 20 spacious tents.
For our economical AfricanMecca guests who prefer a prime river location, Fig Tree Camp located inside the main reserve with views of the Talek River offers 80 guest rooms, as well as easy access to game driving in the reserve. It has 3 categories of rooming for guests with varied preferences i.e. thirty-eight canvas tents overlooking the river, thirty-two garden chalets and ten larger Superior Ngamboli tents on the banks of the Talek River. Electricity at Fig Tree is powered by a timed generator. Other Tier 3 recommended options in the eastern sector are Mara Leisure Camp with 25 rooms, Siana Springs Camp with 38 tents and Ilkeliana Camp with only 17 bush tents.
