Inspired by Denys Finch Hatton luxurious safari hosting expeditions, Finch Hattons Luxury Tented Camp is an upmarket accommodation located in Tsavo West National Park. This boutique camp combines all the elements of luxury colonial living combined with contemporary camping that includes canvas tents on raised wooden platforms with frill facilities.



Added to that is the subtle essence of Out Of Africa in the form of tree trunk pillars, thatched roofs and yesteryear pictures on the walls depicting scenes from Denys Hatton’s time. The camp is housed on a 31-acre property and has 17 tented rooms in a setting of lush greenery with yellow acacia trees, overlooking watering holes that are served by pure, natural run-offs from Mount Kilimanjaro. A resident pod of hippos, fresh water turtles and crocodiles cohabit here, and you might see a pair of eyes and snout watching you from a distance while stationary monitor lizards bask on the rocks closer to shore.

The tents are nestled under thatched roofs and have netted windows that let in the ambience of the wilderness. They are furnished with twin beds or double beds with antique lamps, elegant, floor rugs, writing desk and plush seating arrangements. The en-suite bathrooms are permanent structures with a washbasin, hot water for your showers, shaver outlets and hair dryers.
