GUIDE ON SALA'S CAMP IN KENYA
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Sala’s Camp
In the southern section of Masai Mara National Reserve lies the classical charm of Sala’s Camp, a boutique accommodation positioned at the meeting point of the Sand River and Keekorok River. We recommend Sala’s to our luxury guests because if offers a splendid combination of a strategic location, excellent guides, traditional safari ambience, warm friendly service and delicious food. The 7 tents are discerningly situated on campgrounds to maximize privacy, space and views. The chic glass front doors and interior mesh sides of your tent can be revealed to allow cooling breezes to flow through your space, as well as to maximize the sounds and light of the wilderness. Sala’s Camp accommodates a maximum of sixteen guests in three luxury tents, two family tents and two honeymoon tents that is perfect for four boarders. The lovely interior of latter tent makes it romantically perfect for honeymoon couple’s vacationing in Africa. The tent category and pool configurations are as follows: One Keekorok Honeymoon Tent (with pool), One Forest Honeymoon Tent (with pool), One Keekorok Family Tent (with pool), One Forest Family Tent (no pool), Two Forest Luxury Tent (no pool), One Forest Luxury Tent (with pool). The Keekorok tents are accessible via a bridge across the Keekorok River. The décor reflects authentic East African design with soft touches of native blankets, satin-soft pillows and beds constructed of olive wood. The en-suite bathroom features a single vessel sink, shower with hot water and flush toilet. We recommend that you take the in-tent flashlight provided to help you find your way around the unfenced property at night chaperoned by your Maasai guard. Tents near the common areas may be more convenient for AfricanMecca travelers with limited mobility without much walking, while tents that are sited further away from these areas tend to be quieter. A lovely aroma of coffee and tea waft into your tent upon the dancing rays of sunrise, signaling the onset of another delightful day to explore the flora and fauna of Masai Mara Game Reserve. A splash of cool water on your face energizes your body and mind, and you join your guide to plan the day’s action-adventure safari in Masai Mara Reserve. We recommend a morning game driving trip as a way to become familiar with all the natural treasures within the reserve. These drives take you across the vast savannah plains to locate resident fauna, including the Big 5. As an extra special treat, from July to October, you are likely to see massive herds of wildebeests and zebras that are on the continuous journey of the Great Serengeti-Mara Migration. Upon returning Sala’s Camp, join other AfricanMecca guests for a delicious breakfast and then relax with your favorite book or take a peaceful nap in a hammock around the campgrounds. After lunch, you have some extra time before afternoon tea and a late day activity. You may choose a second game drive, birding tour and other activities before sundowners and dinner. Our thrill-seeking guests may wish to enhance their East African safari holidays with a Maasai village invitation visit or hot air balloon safari while our more casual lodgers may enjoy the simplicity and peacefulness of gazing at the star-filled or avian fauna skies of Masai Mara.
