GUIDE ON NAIBOR CAMP (MAIN NAIBOR, LITTLE NAIBOR & NAIBOR WILDERNESS) IN KENYA
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Naibor Camp
Naibor Camp is an upmarket accommodation that is located along the Talek River, a superlative location for your boutique tour experience in Masai Mara National Reserve. Being tucked away in the riverine forest that surrounds the camp makes you feel completely enveloped by some of Kenya’s untouched wilderness. The feeling is further enhanced by the proximity to wallowing hippos, crocodiles and other animals that are just meters away. With such an ambience, Naibor Camp is the perfect place to unwind and recuperate during your high-pace African safari activities. The camp is divided into three areas, and each area offers distinct facilities i.e. Main Naibor, Little Naibor and Naibor Wilderness. Naibor is a premium accommodation, so you are also treated to impeccable service by a staff that takes pride in helping guests feel at home. Their personable natures, excellent knowledge and outstanding professionalism exceed your every expectation. The elegance of the lounge area encourages you to mingle with other guests, and the intimate dining area makes every meal a special occasion. Main Naibor offers 7 guest tents with king size beds built from native fig wood, luxurious sofas, contrasting rugs along with other fused classic-modern design elements. Splashes of jewel tones intermingle with cream and taupe to create a rich and sophisticated décor. The en-suite bathroom is split on both sides of the tent and features a bucket shower, flush toilet and other necessary conveniences. The twin wash basins are on the opposite side of the tent. Hot water is prepared by the staff and delivered to your tent as needed as there is no running tap water intentionally. Outside, the private verandah is shaded by the surrounding trees. Main Naibor also has a communal fire-pit close to the mess tent for those engaging conversations about your authentic travels in Kenya. Little Naibor offers 2 suites geared towards families traveling together, each with double and twin bedrooms, each of which has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet, safari shower and other necessities. Each suite has a private lounge, dining area, verandah, fireplace and dedicated staff. Naibor Wilderness features 3 double tents with dual-sink vanity, safari shower and flush toilet in the en-suite bathroom. AfricanMecca guests at Naibor Wilderness enjoy the exclusivity of a dedicated staff, separate dining area and private mess tent. The Naibor stay is wonderfully all experiential rustic luxury with a yesteryear safari indulgence alongside touches and conveniences of modernity that makes it so different than most camps: excellent food, fresh linen, comfortable bed, homely service and experience, and all of it provided in an Out Of Africa setting with old-fashioned aesthetics. They have given the in-camp experience a different safari appeal than having physical plumbing and structures which are common in most camps. It features a traditional safari shower delivered by human effort - heating up the hot water and physically delivering it to your shower's water storage container outside your tent, after all, you here in Africa to see, feel and experience something different, vibrant, uncommon in your daily life and most of all, memorable. A modern flush toilet is en-suite in all tents. Water at your wash basin for brushing or washing hands is delivered through an Indian-Swahili copper jug soldered with a faucet or an old colonial era fashioned jug pre-filled with water. Naibor is partly overshadowed by what is in store out on a quest for distinct wildlife. Masai Mara Reserve is a heavenly location for terrestrial and avian lovers, nature enthusiasts and photographers who are on their dream holidays in Africa. The diversity of wildlife and breathtaking scenery will surely entice you to capture every moment in still images and motion video. We recommend taking an early morning game drive to take advantage of the magical soft, golden light. The staff gently awakens you with freshly brewed coffee and tea in your tent, and you have some time to freshen up and gather your gear. Your guide waits by the custom safari vehicle that will take you and other guests to the best locations in the reserve. The Mara is home to many resident species, including the African Big 5– lion, rhino, leopard, elephant and buffalo, and from July to October you also have the pleasure of seeing the immense herds of the Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras. As you cross the vast plains, your guide shares personal stories, cultural traditions, wildlife and conservation information and much more to give you a delightful and enlightening trip in Masai Mara Game Reserve. We can arrange a game drive with breakfast in the bush or at camp, or you may choose a day-long game drive with picnic lunch. Should you opt for separate morning and afternoon game drives, you have some extra time before lunch to shop at the boutique, receive treatments at the spa and relax on your verandah. After your mid-day meal, you will likely be tired and needing energy for the afternoon activity, so we recommend a refreshing shower, nap and other relaxing pastimes. Afternoon tea is served before your late-day game drive which may conclude with sundowners in the bush or camp. Dinner is served at a communal banquet table, so you have time to make new friends, and the conversations may continue around the campfire. With twinkling stars filling the skies, your energy is spent, and you retire to your tent. AfricanMecca Safaris also recommends a hot air balloon safari, walking safari and Maasai cultural tour for your time in the Masai Mara wilderness.
