There are no Tier 1 options at Lake Elementaita, so you have a choice of Tier 2 and Tier 3 accommodations. Whether you prefer a posh colonial-style camp or an intimate safari lodge, the accommodations at Lake Elementaita are perfectly suited for even the most discerning African traveler.



Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp is a mid-range deluxe Tier 2 accommodation with twenty-five tents that are designed to take you to the early days of African chic-exploration. The centerpiece of your tent is a comfortable royal bed that is draped with mosquito netting, giving the sleeping area a romantic and nostalgic feel. Natural wood furnishings feature classic colonial design lines and rich tones that add warmth to the décor.

The private veranda, writing desk, sitting area with safari-style chairs and side tables give you plenty of relaxing places to read, write and lounge. Families and honeymooners may prefer the extra amenities of the Flamingo Suite that offers the best views of the lake and conservancy, Jacuzzi and large private lounge.

A distinct rustic Tier 2 option is the dual lodge and camp - Sleeping Warrior. Situated on Mawe Mbili Hill, with the distant southern views of the lake and Soysambu, it offers accommodation constructed of part canvas, local stones, thatched hay roofs and cedar poles. The modest guest rooms are available with double or twin beds with the option of staying in canvas tents or stoned wall dwellings.



The budget-conscious traveler in Kenya may choose from three Tier 3 accommodations at Elementaita – Sunbird Lodge and Jacaranda Lake Elementaita Lodge. The fourteen cottages at Sunbird Lodge feature great views from private verandas and amenities include hairdryer, shower, in-room safe, mosquito netting, vessel sink and vanity.

Jacaranda Lake Elementaita Lodge offers 33 rooms in quaint brick cottages with homely country-style design elements. Each room features a fireplace and twin or double beds.
