GUIDE ON SIRIKOI IN KENYA
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Sirikoi
Wild lawns, copses of acacia trees with Mount Kenya standing tall in the background and wildlife roaming on the grounds, this is the magical Eden that is Sirikoi. This upmarket, luxurious accommodation is located in the outback wilderness of the fenced Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, which was originally a cattle ranch but was pioneered into a reserve for animals. A natural watering hole in the lodge locale acts as an attraction for elephants, and nature-loving AfricanMecca guests touring Kenya will be charmed at the prospect of being able to view these majestic creatures from the decks of the lodge. As you swim in the pool, a couple of rhinos might pass you by and your meal may be interrupted by a reticulated giraffe looking for its own tasty tidbit on nearby acacia tree. The entire lodge comprises of individual structures with high thatched roofs and spacious interiors decorated with a unique amalgamation of African artifacts and contemporary comforts. The main house has a lounge with plush sofas and an indoor dining area warmed by a fire in the evenings. The outer deck is also furnished with dining furniture and a third covered area in the garden presents an interesting option for al fresco meals. Wi-Fi services are available. Sirikoi offers you three accommodation options, 4 tented rooms, Sirikoi Cottage that has 2 rooms and Sirikoi House with 3 rooms. If you are intimately traveling in East Africa with a romantic companion or on a honeymoon, you could opt for the boutique tented room that comfortably sleeps two in double beds. Erected on raised wooden platforms, the tents have hardwood floors, fireplace and a small seating arrangement. The en-suite bathroom is at the back and has dual basins, shower and bath. A hairdryer and lush, bush toiletries are included for your use. The deck is wide enough for comfy safari furniture so you can sit back and maybe watch a few zebras grazing on the lush grasses of the lawns. Family of four guests can opt for Sirikoi Cottage that includes a roomy lounge and dining area and a spacious deck with arrangements for an evening bonfire and al fresco dining. One of the rooms has a comfy double bed and the other has twin beds making the cottage perfect for families traveling with two children on an exploratory safari in the wilds of Laikipia. Fireplaces and seating arrangements add to the comfort of the room and the capacious bathrooms include all the lodge’s standard amenities. Sirikoi House can accommodate six AfricanMecca guests in all in its three rooms and you can request that the double beds be converted into twin beds if needed. In addition to the amenities of Sirikoi Cottage, the house includes a small kitchenette. A special team of staff members are assigned to the exclusively booked expedition holiday guests in Sirikoi House. You will also have your own private guide and vehicle. The time you spend in Sirikoi is a wholesome vacation in northern Kenya by itself with fauna wandering around and birds perching in the trees, filling the air with happy trills. But when you go on game drives, you see them more closely. Custom crafted safari vehicles will be provided to you, their open sides or roofs perfect for taking all the pictures you want. The Maasai guide on board will show you how to trail and spot animals hidden in the tall grasses of the savannah or deep into acacia forests. Look for lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and wild dogs stalking prey e.g. buffalo placidly chewing its cud, impalas in a bachelor herd, traversing zebras and more. You could also go on a bush walk trip and learn about the flora and smaller fauna of Laikipia or visit the rhino calves, some that are hand reared.
