Photography - Africa
Africa offers plenty of opportunity for photography. Bring plenty of film and extra batteries, as both items are overpriced in Africa. While on safari, make sure you have some way of protecting your camera from dust e.g camera bag with few plastic zip lock bags. As most of the safari game viewing takes place in the early morning and late afternoon, 100 or 200 ASA film is probably best to use. If you have access to a digital camera or a camcorder, this can be perfect too. A telephoto or zoom lens is highly recommended.

Always ask before taking photographs of people like the Masaai. Sometimes, the Masaai(s) request payment for their picture as their photographs in the past have been commercialized without any compensation to them. Having loose currency is always beneficial.

It is prohibited to photograph any government, airport, military, police or related installations including the African presidential residences.
