HOUSE OF WAINE IN NAIROBI
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For House of Waine
Located outside of Nairobi is House of Waine, a family-owned boutique hotel set on 2.5 acres of tranquil gardens that offers a quiet retreat that is close to the most popular city tour attractions in Nairobi. Once the personal residence of the family, the hotel has been transformed into a contented and elegant 11 room luxury accommodation where every AfricanMecca guest feels very welcomed. The guest rooms are individually designed to celebrate local cultures, such as the Maasai-inspired Manyatta Room, as well as to remind you of the pristine wilderness found on your Kenyan safari excursions in East Africa, such as the lake blue and earth brown colors of the Ziwa Room and the soft elephant grey decor of the Tembo Room. Honeymooners and couples who seek romantic holidays in Africa may prefer the Victoria Room with a cast iron four-poster bed and fireplace, and the hotel's smallest room, the Kanini Room, is well-suited for children offering a direct connection to the Makan Room. Inspired by the family's matriarch, the Malaika Suite is the hotel's only suite and features a sitting area and canopied bed. All rooms have a full bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub, flat screen television, direct dial telephone, tea and coffee maker, personal safe, complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning and fresh flowers delivered daily. For your stopover trip to Nairobi, House of Waine offers several common areas to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends. Lounge areas are arranged with cozy conversational areas, and the bar serves refreshing cocktails, spirits and wine. The meals, though, will become a favorite part of your gastronomy vacation time in Kenya. Red roses in a crystal vase, a glass of delightful red wine, freshly baked bread and divine homemade soup sets the stage for your culinary journey at the House of Waine. Each day the hotel's chef chooses varied dish options that are prepared with the freshest, local ingredients, such as freshly arrived seafood from the coast, succulent meats, healthy vegetables and fruits, multi-grain seeds for breads and so much more. For those times when you want to venture away from the hotel, AfricanMecca Safaris can arrange for cultural, historical and shopping tours both in and around Nairobi (best time to go). Less than two miles from the hotel is the Giraffe Center, a conservation site that works to protect the endangered Rothschild giraffe that are found only in the grasslands of East Africa, and you may also feed the giraffes on site or opt to stay at Giraffe Manor on your return from your safari for a differentiating and distinctive hotel experience in the suburbs of Nairobi. You may also visit the Karen Blixen Museum, once a coffee plantation and the former home of the pen name Isak Dinesen, the Danish author who wrote "Out of Africa." If you would like to learn about the traditional arts and crafts of local peoples, you may include a visit to Kazuri Beads Factory and Pottery Centre.
