BAOBAB BEACH RESORT & SPA IN MOMBASA
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Baobab Beach Resort & Spa
The Baobab Beach Resort & Spa has everything you might look for on your Kenyan beach vacation on the Indian Ocean but with minimal personalization due to its size (700+ guests can be accommodated) and its mass guest demographics as arrivals are mostly from European charter flights. Accessible with from the island of Mombasa via the south coast Likoni Ferry, this huge 323 room estate, laid out in 80 acres of lush coastal gardens teeming with stately trees, pretty flowers, colorful butterflies and birds singing, is like a sanctuary of harmony on the Diani Beach in Kenya. Cheeky monkeys and notorious baboons abound in the trees and are quick to take off with an unattended edible treat or even attempt a face to face challenge. Never feed them as they are daring and will come back for more. The widespread accommodation consists of three wings – The Baobab, he Baobab, Kole Kole and The Maridadi. The latter two wings are detailed separately as they all operate independently; though guests can use facilities of either of the wings and can eat in any of the all-inclusive restaurants in all three wings. The simple Baobab Wing accommodation offers you good value for your money, and the resort overlooks 500 meters of the white powdery sands that are bordered with coconut palm trees rustling in the gentle tropical beach. High tides are a great time to go for a swim and low tides offer you the opportunity to view the many denizens from the coral reefs trapped in the shallows. The hotel takes special care to protect the natural world in which it is located. Solar panels are used for power wherever possible; the resort relies on eco-friendly waste disposal systems and also attempts to recycle as much water as it can. The uncomplicated rooms offered by the hotel at Baobab Wing are in various categories to suit your preference. You can also choose from rooms in the different wings, each with an exclusive balcony or patio with views of the expansive Indian Ocean, the swimming pool or the resort gardens. The three main categories of rooms at Baobab Wing are- Standard, Garden View Bungalows and Superior Sea-view Bungalows. The accommodation also has interconnecting rooms for guests travelling with friends and for families with children. The Baobab Wing rooms have all the comforts and basic amenities you might need on your seashore tour in Mombasa. All the rooms have a king or twin bed option, en-suite bathroom with shower, air-conditioning, telephone, mini-fridge, safe, hairdryer and standard TV. The resort offers special facilities for guests, which are physically challenged. Do inform AfricanMecca in advance of your requirements. While Wi-Fi services are available, you have to pay its use. In addition to the amenities of the other rooms, the Superior Sea-View bungalows have satellite connections with the TVs, tea and coffee making supplies, bathrobes and toiletries. Have your all-inclusive meals at the resort’s in-house Karibu Restaurant or even at the other wing restaurants at Kole Kole and Maridadi. You may also opt to dine at the a-la-carte Tangezi and Marhaba Restaurants at an additional cost – not included on your all inclusive plan with AfricanMecca. The freshest of seafood from the ocean is prepared for your meals and the resort can set up a private romantic dinner during your beach trip in Diani at a supplement. They also offer you both local and global cuisine and a selection of drinks to go with the dishes. If you have any dietary specifications, do let the restaurant know, and they will take care of what you need. General services levels are good, and staff are friendly, enthused and welcoming to ensure your stay is pleasurable in Kenya. The resort also has three bars that serve you varied drinks, the Jambo Bar in the central area, Porini Bar located within the Porini Amphitheater area and the Tapa Tapa Bar & Sultan Lounge where you can also order pastries and sandwiches. Visit the Afya Bora Wellness Club & Spa for different types of massages and holistic therapies that will completely relax and rejuvenate you. Sporting facilities available are table tennis, volleyball ground, tennis courts, shuffleboard, archery, Boccia game and aerobic and aqua-fit sessions. Evening entertainment available are disco including for children, traditional dances, animation and acrobatic displays. The Baobab Beach Resort & Spa is a good budget stay over to opt for your beach trip in East Africa, only if you do not mind a large hotel with many guests (read more on when is the best time to go to Mombasa in Kenya).
