Luxury Africa Vacation To Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar Island
We have returned safe and sound from our African trip. I will share my thoughts with you at the end of this email.
Our trip for the most part was beyond our expectations. The stay at Governor’s Camp Il Moran was the highlight. Our tent was amazingly big and well appointed and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and Patrick, the Manager was most accommodating. The game drives were truly the best. We saw so many animals. The hot air balloon ride, although expensive, was a great experience and the bush breakfast a treat!
Ngorongoro Crater was beautiful too once we got down that very bumpy road and we enjoyed some interaction between a herd of water buffalo and a pride of lions very much. One day was enough there. The Ngorongoro Crater Lodge again exceeded expectations and once again the food and staff were exceptional. We thank you for those recommendations.
I think the amount of time we spent at both places was just perfect.
Then we were off to Zamani Kempinski in Zanzibar for 6 days. It was a very nice hotel, but it was huge in size. Fortunately they were not busy so didn’t seem so much like a “Mexican all inclusive”. We did do 2 snorkelling tours out to Mnemba Island and had a wonderful time snorkelling off the boat. The fish were amazing and clarity of water as good as we’ve ever seen. We could see that staying on Mnemba Island would have been perfect, but only movie stars can afford $2000 per night! We enjoyed our Stone Town tour while there.
All of the staff, both at airports and drivers and guides were exceptional and we made all our flights without a hitch. We were a little worried about getting booked straight through from Zanzibar to Cairo, but your Zanzibar team was there to assist us and no problem!
The Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi was not great (tired) but then that was our choice.
That is about it for now. We would not hesitate on recommending AfricanMecca to anyone. Thank you for everything.
