My wife and I are documentarians who have been working with indigenous people and wildlife issues and now the relationship between the two for the past fifteen years. Our two books Lost Africa The Eyes of Origin, Assouline 2004 and Walking Thunder In the Footsteps of the African Elephant, London, Merrell 2009, demonstrated our concern with globalization and climate change before it became the vanguard. We convinced Vanity Fair Magazine to launch the tremendous- Agony and Ivory- article written by Alex Shoumatoff, on the elephant slaughter, which galvanized the world.
