Kenya Safari & Beach Trip Experience

Where do I begin!  This is LONG over due and comes to light in the recent trip we are planning back to Kenya Nov/2016.  Me and my wife’s first experience with AfricanMecca dates back to Oct 2004.  We had just gotten married went to Kenya to visit my wife’s family and to honeymoon.  We had wanted to stay on the coast and also do a quick Safari.  Raza recommended Tiwi Resort (Diani area) and Satao Camp (Tsavo East).  WOW was his recommendation spot on!  

Tiwi offered the all-inclusive we were wanting.  We relaxed everyday by the beach ( I read 4 books the most ever), watched nightly shows and enjoyed local and international cuisine.  He made sure the transfers were there on time as it is a little distance crossing the ferry and down the coast. After 5 days we were off to Tsavo for a 2 night quick safari. 

The accommodations and food were outstanding.  We saw all but one of the ‘big five’ (no rhino) and many more native Kenyan animals.  We also got to see a cheetah pair chase and take a small gazelle in the wild.  The guides were superb and showed local flowers and fauna and useful uses such as plant you can brush your teeth with.  Nightly dinners we cooked at our table on a jiko and the special drinks ‘dawa’ were out of this world!  My wife is originally from Kenya, but had never traveled were we went.  I can say with out a doubt that Raza and African Mecca took the worry out of traveling so we could enjoy our awesome vacation.

Next comes the trip we took to Kenya December/2011.  We were wanting to stay on the coast again and this time with my wife’s 2 sisters, brother, niece, nephew and our 1 year old son.  We wanted to travel to the Northern part of the coast and Raza  recommended the Turtle Bay Beach Club in Watamu near Malindi .  We were blown away as were my wife’s family members. From the beginning the staff were so helpful in giving us a room that was quiet since we had younger ones. This property was well maintained , had good food and nightly entertainment that the kids enjoyed a lot.  There was a dance area that opened up later that I was able to go to with my wife and enjoy some adult time which was well needed. 

The beaches in Watamu are not crowded at all and our Son was able to have his first touch of the Indian ocean.  He loved the waves coming to shore and then trying to crawl after them.  Raza really hit it on the head with this property and the memories my wife, myself and her family whom she doesn’t get to see often are talked about often.  So fast forward to today and the planning he is doing for us for November 2016.  We have two children, and we are bringing my wife’s dad, his significant other, 3 brothers and sister, niece and nephew for a total of 11.. He has recommended the Voyager Resort as it’s a family style all inclusive.. We can’t wait to go , enjoy with family and will be able to write a review…

There are so many more experiences from the last 2 trips but I would need to write a novel..  Trust in African Mecca and Raza.  He is not only a Trusted Travel Professional, but has become a friend along the way!….
