Amazing Time On Kenya Trip, Tanzania & Gorilla Safari

Thanks so much for everything! We had an amazing time and can’t wait to go back. It’s been rough getting back into the swing of things at work, thus the long delay in my response! I apologize. AfricanMecca is a fantastic company to work with if you’re planning a trip to Africa. I’ve had the chance to work with Raza at AfricanMecca in 2004 and again in 2016 for a three week trip with my husband to East Africa (Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania).

When my husband and I began to plan our trip, I immediately thought of AfricanMecca and got back in touch with them for help planning the Rwanda and Tanzania portions of our vacation. We worked with Raza to build our itinerary. While we had many ideas of what we wanted to do, Raza has amazing first-hand experience and useful suggestions for us. He helped build a custom itinerary that met our interests, needs, and level of comfort.

Rwanda was amazing. The accommodations, food, and guides AfricanMecca arranged were great. Raza also helped us through the complicated process of getting permits for gorilla trekking. There are only a limited number of permits available per day and it’s not simple to reserve them. But for us, it felt seamless. The experience of seeing gorillas is incredible and I highly recommend it to anyone considering. It is costly but the money supports the conservation of the gorillas and their protection so it is totally worth it. Rwanda has a reputation for not tolerating corruption so you know your dollars are being put to good use.

AfricanMecca also organized a safari in Tanzania through Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti for us. Our guide was dedicated to giving us a great experience, and we felt like we saw everything we could have imagined on the safari. Although we didn’t splurge on accommodations, we were very comfortable at all times. With our own guide and vehicle, we felt the time could be tailored to our interests.

I believe we had such a great vacation because of AfricanMecca’s connections to experienced guides, quality accommodations, and custom-tailored approach to working with their clients.
